Re: Newbie with 63 from NorCal
Thanks for the warm welcome, guys!
Yeah there's a lot of flake in there! I'll get a close up pic of it; however, the picture makes it look better than it actually is. Airbags, paint, new wiring, disc brake conversion, power steering... the list goes on and on. It already has the 350 swap and a 3 speed with a B&M gate shifter and shift kit. It's smokes a little out of the driver side when idling and I'm guessing the culprit is worn valve guides, so that's gonna be the first thing on my list. Anyone here near the central coast? I don't know any other C10 owners at all. Last edited by 63rexC10; 07-24-2010 at 01:03 AM. Reason: Post edited to avoid multiple posts. |

Re: Newbie with 63 from NorCal
Monterey Peninsula, more like the Central Coast. Moto GP is in town this weekend and it's crazy out here. My wife and I went out for dinner last night night and all the rodders were cruisin' Cannery Row, so yu know I had to run home after dinner and grab the truck!
My wife told me to tell you that Bella's 63 would only turn out to look like mine if she ends up with Jacob. Last edited by 63rexC10; 07-24-2010 at 11:51 AM. |

Re: Newbie with 63 from NorCal
The closed it 2-3 years ago, due to the zebra mussel infestation. Apparently, this mussel likes to rapidly reproduce in pipelines until the pipes can no longer deliver water, and as California is pumping water clear across the state to multiple cities, they figured it would be better to just shut it down than to risk further infestation in reservoirs such as San Luis. However, they have filled the lake with ash, in order to kill everything in it, and will possibly be re-opening it next year.
