Question for the unmolested barn find truck owners
I am hunting for the ground strap locations. I have found four of them. The two at the firewall to either side of the valve covers. The one from the inner fender to the frame on pass. side. The last one I found was the one from the cab to the cab mount pass. side about midway. Anybody willing to get dirty finding the last one or is there another one? The kits have five of them but I don't know. I would think that there is one under the bed somewhere that might be the place to start. If you would please post a pic of it's location and I will add mine and make a thread about it. Assembly manual only shows the engine locations (looked twice now). Thanks for your help.

Re: Question for the unmolested barn find truck owners
I am not sure, but it sure makes sense that there would be a ground strap from the frame to the bed. None of my trucks have one, but I am going to put one there when I start working on them.
Here is picture I saved from a previous post.

Re: Question for the unmolested barn find truck owners
Thanks Shyguy. I am going to find some out of the way place but easy to get to and use the other long one there. When I get done I will take some pics and post them in another thread. Hopefully someone will get some use out of them that way.

Re: Question for the unmolested barn find truck owners
Those are the only four i have ever seen too, but if you have a steel bed that is bolted directly to the frame you shouldnt need a ground strap for the bed. The cab sits on rubber isolators so i would need one.

Re: Question for the unmolested barn find truck owners
In addition to the ones you listed above, mine had a small woven ground strap from the gasoline filler neck to the frame.
