How do you bypass the neutral safety switch?
Just bought a 72 Suburban and the previous owner took out the tilt column and put a regular truck column in. The column is misaligned and the neutral safety switch is telling it not to start(I think???). I found the switch under the dash on the column. There are two plugs going into it. One has two green wires and the other has two purple wires. When the truck is in park the indicator on the column is actually to the left of where the "P" is. Just trying to figure out how to get this thing to start again. Battery has 12.6 volts. I also hear a relay clicking in the dash when I try to start it. I would even settle for how to hot wire the truck for now. Right now it's stuck in my driveway blocking the garage, so I can't even pull the GTO out and take that for a spin. Thanks in advance.

Re: How do you bypass the neutral safety switch?
pull the two wires off the neutral safety switch and connect them directly together

Re: How do you bypass the neutral safety switch?
I tried starting it in neutral and nothing happens. I even moved it along every notch and tried starting it and nothing.

There are four wires there. Two on each connector. If you connect them to each other a certain way it blows the fuse.

Pull the two purple wires and put them together. The other two wires are for your reverse lights....

Going out right now to try the two purple wires. Hope it starts. Fingers crossed.

Re: How do you bypass the neutral safety switch?
It didn't start. I just get a click from something in the dash.
I started a new thread for the new problem since the neutral safety switch bypass didn't work.
