Dumb Question

Does the transfer case and tranny use the same fluid? Are they all connected as far as the fluids go. In other words if I take fluid out of the transfer case do I put it back via the tranny? Sorry I'm new to 4x4's

If this is on your 72 then, to answer your question no. The tranny and tc are seperate and each has their own fill and drain plug. I had pics on another computer, but a virus got it. The tranny(4spd) fill on driver side and drain on the bottom/back. For an NP205 tc fill and drain are on the back.

Yes, both the manual tranny and the 205 will use that.
