Hey guys, here's a full set of Phantom gauges on ebay (not mine)

I found these searching the other night and I was going to try to slide in at the ned and see what I could get them for. I emailed the guy with some questions hooping he would give me some part #'s, he told me that the smaller ones were electric and that he would hook me up now with them for $150. He has since not replied to 4-5 emails so I said forget it. I even sent him my phone #, no calls either. I figured if I bid on them and win them cheaper than $150 he might raise a stink about it, so I'm just gonna step off. Maybe one of you guys would want to slide in at the end and see if you can grab them cheap? Good luck if any of you try. Let me know if any of you win them, just curious. ........Jerry

do you know what sizes the gages are? I am looking for 2 5/8" for the smaller ones.
Thanks

He said the small ones were 2 1/16th. They are electric so I would imagine our trucks would require us to buy a sending unit.

It looks like the speedo is mechanical by the pic. I have a pulse generator so it wont be an issue either way. He says that they are "grey faced" but im sure he is mistaken right? FIrst of all Grey is not a color GRAY is and second .... i think phantoms only come in white right?

Yeah, phantom's are white. I think the pro-comps or sport comps or both are silver/gray/grey . He said the speedo was mechanical, but the rest were electrical. Jerry

I am awaiting a damn check in the mail anyhow buy thought they might slide under the radar.

Whoever gets them should get a good deal. They are pretty expensive gauges.

yeah it looks like we are going to end up driving the price up on one another here but hopefully someone will still get a good deal on them. I wish i had more info on this set because ive seen some good prices on some of the smaller gauges but the speedo and tach can be expensive still.

I thought this might happen and I really hated it because the guy kinda hung me out. I wanted one of you guys to get a good deal, but that was hard to do when you're not sure who's looking for them, so i told everybody. Share the love I guess..... Hope I didn't screw anybody up........Jerry

You didnt screw me up. In fact, i would have probably not seen them if not for you. The funny thing is that i decided on Saturday that i wanted to go with different gauges and those were the exact ones i had in mind. Im not looking to get a killer deal ..... just looking to get what i need for a fair price. I got a guy looking to buy my gauges but if he doesnt then i'll be posting a set of new tpi gauges for sale here soon.

SORRY GREYHOUNDSTEVE -- I DIDN'T READ THIS POST TILL AFTER I ALREADY BID ON THEM. MY BID WENT RIGHT UP TO MY MAXIMUM AS SOON AS I BID. I BID ON THEM CAUSE THEY WERE A BARGAIN, NOT CAUSE I NEEDED THEM. (THEY WOULD JUST GO ON A SHELF FOR A FUTURE PROJECT) IF YOU NEED EM ... GO FOR IT & I WONT BID ANY HIGHER. JOHN

I noticed you were the high bidder John. I dont mind if another board member outbids me because i sit at a computer 40 hours a week so its not hard for me to find another set at a good price but this seemed alot easier than collecting them one by one. I'm going to wait until i hear about my existing gauges before i throw down a bid but when i do i bid to buy and if someone outbids me then its only because they wanted them more than me and i harbor no ill will towards them.
My first choice would have been Autometers cobalt c2's because they have the blue leds im going with everywhere else but those things are PRICEY so ive settled on the phantoms instead but if they wont work either then i'll post them back for sale on the board before i went to ebay with them. Hopefully they will work for me though because my garage is quickly filling with parts i purchased and decided not to use.

Hey Steve, can you get blue covers for the bulbs in the Phantom gauges to match your others? The lunar ones look tight, but they are really pricey. Look awesome at night though. Nice "cool/bling" factor if thats what you're looking for........Jerry

Well actually i have about 10 different blue led combos that fit into a 194 socket but the problem i ran into on my prevous gauges was that the leds are much larger and there was no room for them in the actual gauge and then my speedo had an lcd screen that lit it so i couldnt do anything with it at all. I think i would have better luck with these as they were designed to have removable bulbs in them. If i had to i could get blue covers for them but in the past ive found that they fade VERY fast so i would prefer to use leds instead. I am also installing these in a custom gague bezel i am having built and will probably enclose them in lexan but im still working out the design. I had one bezel already made but i didnt like the way it looked so im going to build another one with a totally different style this time. Hopefully it will turn out better.

Hey Guys,

I was just teasing about the last post.

I was going to jump on them at the end of the auction. I saw them last night and thought hey man.... this is a good deal.

I do not or did not plan on going way up there in price.... I hope someone on the board who needs them gets them.

Someone local like Greyhound so we can all check them out at a board meet!!!

Regards,

Stacey

Ask and you shall recieve.
I bought the gauges. I am going to begin working on the new bezel as soon as i get them and will post some pictures shortly after. Im shooting for a 3 week deadline but since its my busy season at work i might not be able to log many hours on the project for the next couple of months. I also have my frontend apart and in primer right now so that will probably take priority right now. My trucj is up at Meacham field in a nice cozy hanger. If anyone wants to come check it out sometime just PM me and i'd be glad to show you what im working on. I also have a ton of parts i need to get rid of so if anyone is looking for some doors, a 67 hood, a front roll pan or a new set of TPI gauges let me know?

Well, without knowing exactly the parts #'s, I had the set priced out at around $400.00. Maybe someone could get a "deal" with a vendor, but thats what they cost when I was checking on them. ......Jerry

I don't think Steve got a "steal/huge score" but if these are the exact gauges he wanted, he saved probably $125+ bucks. Good deal.
