cab drop

on a 67-72 how far can you drop the cab without cuting frame.
simple and short

Any way you go, you will have to cut something, but here is what I did..... I bodydropped 1 1/2" on my longhorn. The cab brackects were moved down on the frame, & the floor of the cab was opened up (rail to rail), & the center was raised up to make room for the frame rails. Up front , the frame horns were cut off, dropped the same 1 1/2" & boxed for strenght. The lip was then cut off the box, & also moved 1 1/2", & welded back on. my guess is you could go more on this type drop, but it does take a lot of room out of the cab. My truck also has a 4" chop top, so i was limited to how much "oldschool drop" (channelled) I could do on the body. I have seen guys do a 3" stock floor body drop , by slicing & boxing the frame, & this looked like a pretty slick way to go if you dont mind the welding & fab work it sure leaves the room in the cab............69L
