Looking for opinions

I picked up an original 67 long bed, factory a/c and power steering. Would it be better to restore it original or do the usual upgrades.

Thanks for any input

Fleet,

Only you can answer your question. <restore or upgrade> If I were you, I'd restore to original.

If it is all there and not hacked up from previous owners then I say back to original.

Re: Looking for opinions

Restore the body. Drop the attitude....2.5 inches lower in front, 4 in the rear; convert to discs up front. You'll enjoy the drive and the look will be enhanced. Replace the front bumper with the chrome one and add the factory chrome (matching) bumper to the rear. Replace the wood in the bed, if it is wood, and add some stainless strips in place of the black steel ones. If you use the ECE components, you'll still be able to place a load in it and use it like a truck if that is your desire. If not using it to haul, it'll look good and ride good, too.

Re: Looking for opinions

very droolable.
Build it like YOU want it.
If you plan to build it for someone else, then ask that person.
If you plan to try and make some money off of it, (build to flip) then build it as cheap as possible, and you probably still wont break even.

That is a very neat truck... 67s were not commonly equipped with small blocks nor A/C... the small back window makes it even neater.
I could tell you what I'd do to it, but that ain't what you asked for.

Re: Looking for opinions

You don't see alot of all origonal trucks out there! You can always add wheels and drop it later if you want.

Re: Looking for opinions

The replies all show wisdom...I would keep it as close to stock as possible except...lower it a bit (2"-4")...front disc brakes for safety. You have a special truck.

That's some sweet patina. I'd lower it and drive it.

That's what I was thinking!
Make it mechanically sound and drop it a little and drive it, you can't buy that kind of patina it has to come with the truck and yours has it.
Any way you go you can't loose! Good luck.

I'd say whatever you like the best, throw resale value out the window..... It's your truck, you'll be driving it.

Re: Looking for opinions

Once you modify, your personal tastes take hold, which is fine , but if you plan to sell, you better hope the new owners taste match yours.Serious collectors usually prefer unaltered original vehicles. The truck will keep appreciating in value just the way it sits on the trailer(looks like a barn find).I would leave any modification thoughs to the white truck in the avatar.
