Question Brake booster question?????

I want to replace the original brake booster in my `67. I`ve never really been to happy with the power assist, seems a bit harder then it should be and looks crusty. I see 67-72 could have came with a "Bendix" booster, which is in my truck now. I also see 71-72 could have came with a "Delco Moraine" type.
I was wondering if one type feels better then another. Both are very reasonable to buy rebuilt. Or any other suggestions?

Re: Brake booster question?????

You should probably do a search.IIRC(and that is questionable) the boosters only work with the same brand MC.That's not a deal killer since MCs are inexpensive but something you need to research before starting the swap.

Re: Brake booster question?????

Maybe the length of the rod might be different or the recess where it bolts. I think your right, it seems like there are choices on the masters, I will keep that in mind. Thanks

Re: Brake booster question?????

Not trying to hijack but I have legit booster question. Is there a difference in the distance between the studs for the monting brackets for a Delco and Bendix?

Re: Brake booster question?????

I've had both types and couldn't tell any difference in feel. Right now I have the Delco in place and intend to keep it.
