I haven't seen a "wood bed pictures" thread recently.

There must be some more, recently finished wood beds, other then the one on my 70 C-10.
( red oak with two coats of dark walnut stain, followed by five coats of marine spar varnish )

--original chevy C/30 "short" 9' foot bed narrowed and shortened to 6'6" x 8
--topped w/oak ply and finished w/marine spar 8-10 coats

I have a thick rubber mat I would put in there if I was going to haul something, but it ain't like I'll be tossing firewood in there anymore!

Yes. I stripped, sanded, and re-stained the oak planks in my 8 foot bed last spring. Been hauling yard waste, engine parts, and canoes all summer. I did however lay down some protection when hauling over 1/2 ton of rocks.
