My dad blew out the rear end in his 80 3/4 ton while on vacation yesterday ( for the second time I might add. I dont like 14 bolt rear ends! ) so off I am to save the day in the 68. Starting at 12 noon I had to go from Vashon Island to the junkyard in Kitsap county , find a rear end, get it loaded up and make the 500 plus mile round trip from Port orchard washington to Lake Chelan and back before bedtime so I could go to work in the morning. Anyone who knows the topography and the traffic of Western Washington will be impressed. Made the return route in under 3 1/2 hours. I will state for the record though. 100 mph in a 68 is a bit on the uncomfortable side.

Especially with a 14-bolt rolling around in back...LMAO! Where do you work on Vashon...K2? I thought they moved. You are a good son...that is why you move more than one state away from the parents...LOL!

OUCH! I did that once with some steel pipe in the back of my 1971 El Camino...never hauled a load that was not tied down again. It's a real pain to fix those...as much as I love welding up trim mount holes...LOL!

I guess you are still doing your body work so anything goesp until that final paint job!

Yes, you're a good son!

Ahhhhhh, Lake Chelan. Every year as a kid my family went to a little village up in the mountains. It's called Holden Village. It's a half hour bus trip straight up from Lucerne, at the far end of the lake. I hated it back then but really wish I could get back there, now that I'm an adult and need the relaxing surroundings!

Luckily the holes are in the Inside of the bed at the front. An area which can wait. I thought I had it fairly well secured. I was wrong. Beautifull area Chelan. If only there were decent jobs there I'd be on it.
