Re: Will these wheels work?

I'd pass on 16.5" wheels. 16.5" tires cost an arm and a leg.

Re: Will these wheels work?

Naw, just messin with ya. I think its a good deal so grab them babies up! I would love to have some but dont have anything at the moment to put them on. They will fit your truck and the tires to fit are not that bad to find and/or purchase.

Re: Will these wheels work?

Ya those wheels should work. The bolt pattern for 8 lug wheels didn't change until ford went to the superduty in like 99 or so they went metric. The difference in the older wheels is the centre hole is bigger but unless your using the wheel to max load rating I think its ok

Re: Will these wheels work?

I have a set of wheels off of an 92ish f250 and they work fine. The center hole is larger than my hub so they fit sloppy, but are fine when you torque them down. Some say that you may break lugs, but I've had 3600 pounds of gravel loaded in my bed and drove down the freeway and all my lugs are still in place.

Re: Will these wheels work?

Yes,they will work and they are worth $75 each.16.5s do not cost an arm and a leg.All tires cost an arm and a leg in the past couple tears since so many diameters have become available.16s are a bit less now (used to be the other way around) and 17s are more. The period correct wheels really set these trucks of like none other.Contemporary custom wheels are what cost an arm and a leg.You can buy a whole lotta tire with the money you'll save on these wheels.

Re: Will these wheels work?

Open this link and scroll down to the 8 lug wheel, read it and then go measure your truck, s/b 6.5" i think but don't quote me, then pull a wheel and measure the backspacing, i'm guessing about4" but again don't quote me. now that you have this information go look at the wheels and take a tape measure, check the lugs and backspacing..

Re: Will these wheels work?

Back then we never gave backspacing a thought.I never knew what back spacing any of the wheels I ever ran were, never was asked what I needed when buying, nor was asked when selling. They just fit.Things were actually standardized back before the whole wheel/tire thing got so weirded out in recent years. All 8-lug patterns were the same when these wheels were made.

Re: Will these wheels work?

They will fit. NEVER seen them in the 99+ metric pattern. Only 8X6.5. I have never seen them for less than 200 a set. They are the BEST looking retro aluminum 8 lug IMO.

Re: Will these wheels work?

I love those wheels.

1. Check center bore and make sure it fits. I have seen studs get bent over center bore being off just a lil especially when tire store cranks them with impact.

2. Make sure lugs are correct length and do not bottom out.

Re: Will these wheels work?

16.5 tires are less popular so yes they are slightly more and fewer choices but if you choose a popular tread and size they are not that bad of a deal considering how cool those wheels are!! I have a set of 6 lug 15" ones just likem and they look good to me

Re: Will these wheels work?

so i went and talked to a couple guys in the tire buisness today that i trust, and they said not to buy them. they have no bead, so if you roll a tire it will go off the rim, and that these rims are really hard to find tires for, at least the kind i want, so, im not going to buy them
