Thumbs up i had a really good weekend for once.......

got my rallys painted thursday night, waited till yesterday to mount up the tires, had to go to FLETCHERS and use one of their tire machines to hold the rim while we used irons to put the other bead on (no way i could have done this by hand by myself on the floor, been there tried it, way to stiff a tire) so that went well then i was on the search for a place that could balance them, i tried, firestone,fletchers,fly-n-high,desert rat w/ no success. only other option i have is SEMI-TRUCK garage so ill have to call around and see if they can help. (way to deep a backspacing so it hits the machine before mounting up to the spindle)
so not balanced but i wanted to see how they rode not balanced so i mounted them up tody.only place they rub is on one of the springs ust a touch. they seem fine at speed (50mph+), doesnt seem to be any vibration/bounce that i can tell. ill still try to get them balanced soon but for now they will do fine. i only drive the truck 3 miles a day and thats only if its gonna rain. never goes over 40mph the whole way to work,no highway driving at this time.
then i was able to get a stock thermostat housing for the BB since the junk chrome piece has been leaking for awhile. got that all mounted/filled and no more leaks.
plus i figured out last week that my secondarys on the edelbrock where not opening cause they where hitting the adapter (square-bore to spread-bore) so i pulled that off last week and opened up the secondary holes a bit, works perfect now and my gas milage went from 6mpg to 12mpg or so
so anyways this is a list of things i got done............
rims painted
tires mounted
new thermostat housing put on
tires mounted on truck
doesnt sound like alot but took all day saturday. its been a good weekend...... for once

I keep seeing you say you're only gonna drive it if it's going to rain, but you've got these super wide tires on the back. I keep thinking...hydroplane. Be careful in the rain, been there done that.

ya i know about that. i only work 3 miles away and its all surface streets so there will be no fast speeds involved coming home. plus we havent had crap for rain here this year.
