lowering question?

okay so my buddy lowered his truck 4.5/6 so it sits pretty level, he wants to run taller tires in the rear without having a rake, i was thinking he could just put drop shackles or blocks to level it back out then. that would work right? he has a c-notch to by the way.

Re: lowering question?

Either choice of drop shackle or block will work. You will definitely need that c-notch.
I would go the shackle route.
Look at the bed brace directly above the rear shackle.
Some trucks have a 52" leaf spring. Others have a 56" leaf spring.
One of them requires notching that bed floor brace to clear the shackle.
This may help you make up your mind on the chosen method.

thanks, we were prolly going to use the shackles anyway, we have the c-notch in already, will there be enough clearance with the shackles and flip?

Re: lowering question?

There should be two sets of bolt holes on the shackle.
One set is for a 1" drop,... the other set is for a 2" drop. I would use the 1" drop set.
Your truck may still bottom out with a total of 7" rear drop.
(depends on how weak your leaf springs are)
