Factory ad photos

Anyone care to post 60-66 factory photography? I'm particularly talking about the glamor shots that were used in magazine ads, brochures and such. I'll kick it off with this Camper Special beauty. I'm sure that GM took tons of fancy staged photos of these trucks. Many that I've seen are quite beautiful.

jchav62...thanks....i have all this. was looking for gm heritage pics from 63. I have a bunch of 63 literature and about 7-8 different brochures....have some 63 canadian literature also.

Hello, i have factory dealer films for 64-66 chevy trucks . These are not slide show but video . They used them to show the new models to the salesman. Some are crazy skits with a small story like the 65 chevy vs the 65 ford 64 4wd shot in wyoming . 66 custom camper vs 66 ford camper special . I would like to share but my computor skills are limited . If someone could talk me through it i could try to post they range from 10-20 minutes long mike

Someone told me to use a video camera attached to the computer while projecting your films with a ordinary projector. Course the quality won't be the greatest. Post it on YouTube after like I did the slide presentations.

I had a box that was about 10" wide x 16" long x 10" tall that was made for converting old projector movies to digital. You'd project the movie in the box onto a small screen, and there was a mirror that reflected it to another hole in the box that you'd capture it with the digital camera. The quality came out rather nice.
The box might be something someone could buy online.

How does one (esp. a computer novice) get DVD onto YouTube? Anyone know? I've never done it. Just upload the DVD to YT from your computer? And what are the running time limits on YouTube?

I've mentioned this before, but that front end grille is the first die my dad worked on as a Chevrolet die maker.

He submitted improvements through the GM Suggestion program and made enough money to pay cash for our first truck, a '69 GMC stepside.

'65 specifically, but any of those with the small rectangular holes.

The issue is that the punches were pretty small and would break off after a period of time, running scrap parts until somebody noticed. He was always making little refinements, and would submit a suggestion through the program to document the savings and would be re-imbursed with a reward.

At that time he worked at Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing (aka "Chevy in the Hole") as a diemaker. They made radiator supports, front grilles, air cleaners, oil pans, valve covers, rocker arms, fuel tanks, etc. He continued to submit suggestions even after he was a salaried employee in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.

He was/is the GM Patent holder for laminated steels (sheet steel with an acoustic barrier), adhesive bonding of aluminum space frames, and the hydroform process (in use on full size trucks and Corvettes).

He used to call me and ask "hey, did you guys just implement one of my suggestions?".

I'd say "I dunno, why do you ask".

He'd say "well, I just got a check and I don't know what it's from".

Me: "..get off the phone and go cash it!"

I wonder if that gorgous blue truck with the camper was built early or especially for that ad work........I always thought there was never a chrome grille from the factory, but that one sure looks like chrome! could be just the photo?

Soo Hollywood- the note on the back of this snapshot: "We took our new Chevys down to the beach and had loads of fun. The kids sat in a row and watched us adults play volleyball with a four foot high net. It was just a marvelous time until we had to leave. It took us three hours to get the Malibu out of the sand and back up on the highway." lol
