Fuel pump Or Injector pickup in tank ??

My question to you guys has to do with reinstaling the tank on my truck . Ive read a little about replaceing the fuel filter and not geting any air in the lines. So my question is do I need to bleed the fuel lines when I go to replace the fuel tank on my truck or am I going to be okay with just sticking the pick up and sending unit back in the tank and hooking it back to the hoses. I just remmber a guy said he had no problems when he replaced the fuel filter but it was the air that later down the road that made his truck quit . I know I am replceing the tank but my concerns are the air and a $$$ injector pump with not diesel fuel but air in it that uses the fuel for lubrication.

Im not that shure on your truck.

But i know real diesel engines need to be primed or the air blead out or the feul injectors befor they will start.

There's some guy's in here with diesel powered trucks and they may know better than me.

Also include the year of your truck this may make a big differance.

Oh yeah your right most fuel system components in a diesel are lubricated by the fuel so it's important that you don't run them without fuel for too long.

Okay the tank is in and I made it work 12 miles she ran okay. I was just a little leary. Like anything else that you replace if its going to work properly or not after all that elbow grease and undercoating .
