Wiring help
Hello everyone,
I have a '69 C-10 that I have been restoring and I have a wiring question. I bought a "universal" wiring harness which was a big mistake in itself. When I went to wire up the after market fuel tank, it had the ground and only one wire for the fuel sending unit. There was also only one "fuel gauge" wire in the kit. Based on the dash wiring schematic from Chevy, there is a fuel gauge (tan) wire and a fuel gauge feeder (pink) wire. Which one, or both do I hook up to the fuel sending unit? Thanks so much for any assistance that you can give me. |

Re: Wiring help
From the factory the sender wire is brown.
Make sure that you have the appropriate resistance built into the circuit. It might be in or behind the gauge itself, I have no idea. But you do not want full 12V current going to your sender. An arc in there could ruin your whole year.

Re: Wiring help
Thanks for the reply and good advice. I'll check that stuff out. Sorry about the Hawks today. Even though I live in Dallas now, I will forever call the Seattle area home.
