how to?

i need to know how to adjust a clucth in one of our trucks i've never had to mess witht he adjustment the pedel is getting high when it lets out.

i just need a step by step instructions

thanks in advance



its a 1971 c-10 with 307 3 speed in the floor

There is a threaded rod that goes to the clutch fork. Just turn he nuts on it in or our to get your adjustment.

If I remember right, you can't just turn the nuts, you have to pull the pin or bolt?? out of the "U" shaped fork looking thing, pull it down some and turn the entire "U" shaped piece. You want to turn it (I think clockwise) so that the "U" shaped thing moves closer to the firewall, that will pull the clutch pedal "down". It's been a LOOOOONG time since I've done this, so I may be wrong, but it will need to move towards the firewall to get what you want.

The reason the pedal is so high why you let it out is that the clutch disk is about worn out (thin). Time to replace before long. To bring it back down just shorten the rod (to much and the clutch will not release).

the clutch better not be wore out i just installed it in october of last year i haven't even put 5000 miles on the truck

In that case just keep making the rod shorter until the clutch stops releasing and then go back the other way until it changes gears smoothly.
