I don't know if it is photoshoped or not. Tires will "keel" in like that if you are using hydralics or air lift suspension. But I will say this it is fugly.

Yuck. Won't ever understand why late model step beds find their way onto 67-72's, especially if you're going to show it. Nothing like a round front fender edge and square rear fender edge to impress the judges.

Ya you know what I'm thinking.

The red stepside beside it looks interesting though it's not a 67-72.

Sounds like someone is a little offended by some of the comments, event though the truck shown in not yours. It does share some similarity to yours however. If you're going radical you should expect positive and negative comments.

As for your comment, for restorations the opposite is true. Anyone can easilly have a custom resto (assuming $$ is no object) as the the aftermarket is geared towards that market. The degree and skill of the customization is debatable however.

Unless you're lucky enough to locate an unmolested original, it's very difficult to pull off a correct stock restoration as you need to locate NOS or excellent used items that are not reproduced. Keep in mind that the majority of these trucks have lost some if not many of their stcok components.

However, if you meant anyone can build a stock truck, very true. All the parts fit and have been engineered to work together. Most people don't have the fabrication skills to build and create from scratch. Your truck show that you obviously have a special talent.

I NOT going to get into any childish pi$$ing contest here. I came up with an intelligent counterpoint to your comment AND complemented you on your fabrication skills and creativity. And you come back with this?

And no, stock restorations are no more boring than wild customizations are silly and frivilous. It all comes down to what you enjoy.

Personally, I think custom trucks are much more common than a stock looking truck.

true is the fact that there are far more custom truck now than stock but all the stock ones look the same thats the point of being custom to be different how many trucks like that do you think there are running around and its not photoshopped socal customs doesnt do that they take their own pics i believe. just be glad he didnt put some 20's on a rice burner and slap a wing and decals all over it

if it was single cab it would look better with that bed but extended cab really needs an original fleetside bed.

I dunno, not all front and back fenderwells are exactly alike, Look at a 55-57 chevy car and they are different but they work. I kinda like the look of new beds on our trucks although I tend to like the stock look better. But to each his own, if all our trucks looked the same what would be the point?

I respect that everyone likes their own type, and that's perfectly fine. The 50's chevys indeed were different front and rear wheel well shapes, but they're still similar and the flare of the fenders are the same; the lip that sticks out along the perimeter of the wheel well. You're right that if all trucks looked the same, it would be boring. There's no point in arguing this one. IMO, there's probably a very small crowd that would prefer scrapping their stock stepside bed and putting a 90's step in. Making your truck custom usually involves blending lines, making a smooth custom look, and it just doesn't flow with those wheelwells. If it were mine, I'd do something different.

He did an excellent job on the cab..... it actually looks right unlike 95% of the other extended cabs I've seen. That late model bed has to go though..... would look much cooler with a 67-72 short fleet bed.

As for the "pissing match"..... anyone can build anything if you have the money and/or the skills to do it. Building a "stock resto" is a little easier because you are just rebuilding the truck and replacing original parts as needed. Custom trucks require modifications to the body/chassis/engine as well as replacing original parts as needed. Customs require a little more creativity that a stock resto. My truck for example for the most part has a stock body and interior, but lots of little mods to make it work. Air bag suspension, fold down radio delete plate, raised bed floor, c-notch, modified front cross member, relocated battery, smooth firewall, electric fan, filled stake pocket holes, filled antenna hole, and my latest gizmo..... a pneumatic actuated fuel filler door! (I'll post pics of that soon). Some of these mods aren't very obvious but in my opinion make the truck.

So I think there is a lot more thougt put into a custom. I agree, stock is a little boring to me, but I can appreciate it. On the other hand, a wild custom such as Lotik's is a little extreme for me, but I can appreciate that also.
