What is my CST worth?
Its not really for sale but there's a guy here where I live that is always asking to buy my truck & Im tempted to toss a price at him but I have no clue what its worth. Ill sell it if the price is right & I could actually use the money right now. Here are my pics of it & the sheet showing its options. I refuse to give him some dollar amout that is outrageous but Id like to get what its worth too...

Re: What is my CST worth?
Geeeeeeeeee Corn that's a very nice looking truck. Lets say $1,000,000? When it comes to placing a value of a truck I always go on the high side. I'll sit back and see what others say cause I don't know.

Re: What is my CST worth?
Well it looks like it was well optioned and you have original paperwork to back it all up. Sorry but without a pic of the actual truck its hard to give a value. Also I couldnt tell from the paperwork but things like longbed vs. shortbed and 1/2 ton vs. 3/4 ton are going to have alot to do with street value. If its a show quality shape shortbed halfton with original engine it could easily be worth 30-40k. If its show quality shape 3/4 ton long bed with original engine I would say closer to 20-25k. Of course if its not in show quality, non original engine, etc.. it would be less.

Re: What is my CST worth?
It`s a 1/2t,but don`t see a model#.It`s all about condition here.It`s an upper-end truck,so the value could be @ $5-6K for a solid driver up to...
...The other thing is prices are soft right now. There are still buyers with the money, but farther and fewer between. An easy local sale could be much lower.

Re: What is my CST worth?
Yes its a 1/2 ton (long bed). Its not restored but it is pretty solid. I was actually guessing 5ish & was gonna tell the guy 6K just to see how serious he is. Thanks & keep the comments coming...

Re: What is my CST worth?
i would say 6-7k being solid. does it still have the BB, air, and buckets? price it between 8-9k if you don't really want to sell it and if he bites then you won't be disappointed.

Re: What is my CST worth?
I would have to see it in person to determine it's value. Tell you what, let me come up there and get it and I will drive it for a year and I will let you know. Howzat sound?

Re: What is my CST worth?
Well shoot bud. If ya don't really want to sell it then shoot him a stupid high $ and cool him off or just tell him no. If he goes for the $ then you'll have more money to get into something else.

For a Comparison I had a FOR SALE sign on the White Truck at the Midwest Truck Nats in Kansas City last weekend with $6000 on it. Had some interest and a couple of people took a business card but I haven't heard from anyone yet..... LockDoc

Re: What is my CST worth?
LOCDOC, not trying to be a wise ass but it would help Corn and all readers to this thread if you gave a few more details about your white truck. Maybe you didn't because most people reading know what you were selling.
Corn, BB highly optioned, I'd go a little on the high side. The market is soft but it sounds as if you don't really want to sell it unless you get what you want for it. $6,000 is not an unreasonable price for that truck but I think it's low. But that's just me. Throw a number out like $8,000 or $9,000 and watch his reaction. If he negotiates, then the truck's in play. If he gets a funny look on his face and starts looking at you funny, then ask him how much he thinks it's worth. If he throws some ridiculously low number out there, then wish him luck. Lots of people say they want to buy something but they want you to give it away. It amazes me how many people want to buy the truck even when you say it's not for sale. Then, when you give them a number you would sell it for, they look at you like you're crazy. Even though you said in the beginning it wasn't for sale. |

Re: What is my CST worth?
whatever price you decide on be kinda firm, he will tell everybody else even if he does not buy it........if you live in a small enough town, everyone will know what Corn wants for his truck in about 2 or 3 days.
I have admired your truck for a long time. life is good, kent |

Re: What is my CST worth?
Looking at the picture I`m saying $7,500 would be a kind number to start with.

Re: What is my CST worth?
Could you get a 396 CST in a shortbed? Just trying to determine what more my truck could have had for options in 69. This post is really helping me decide that if I do sell it, Id probably have a pretty tough time of ever finding another one I could afford...

Yes, you could get a BB in a short bed in 1969.

Re: What is my CST worth?
When the guy comes around & asks to buy it again, Im guessing he will walk away & not bother me again. That will make me smile.
If he thinks its a fair price & buys it, that will make me smile too... Thanks for all the help guys. I appreciate all of your comments!... |
