Re: NOS 1968-72 292 engine mounts

I am new to the game of the engine swap, how many of these do I need to put a 292 into my 250 truck?

The R (pass) side is hard to find . buy them as a set and sell your standards .

Re: NOS 1968-72 292 engine mounts

Just an FYI, I do not think the above pictured towers are for a 292 as listed. They look like the 2wd small block V-8 towers, we have a set of recently pulled 292 towers in the shop and can get a picture of them if needed. Mel

I think they were marked as 292 incorrectly at some point, I can take a picture of a 292 set if needed later this morning. Mel

If you could post a pic that would be great. The mounts were marked 292 when I got them so i'm not sure.

Google the part # 3916784 and it comes back to Chevy 67-72 V-8 motor mounts 283 / 327 / 350 / 383 / 400

Here are what the C/10-20-30 292 I-6 mounts look like, since questions seem to pop up fairly regular on this subject I also dipped into the old parts book for a look and found that the one above pictured C/10-20-30 SB V-8 #783 tower does have a 292 application listed but it is for 68-72 D-D/20-30 series used as left hand engine mounting to frame, maybe that is where the confusion started.

Also since the parts book was opened up, I crossed over the I-6 tower p/n's and confirmed that the LH #663 tower is the same part on all 63-72 C/10-30 w/292 I-6 and 66-72 C/10-30 w/250 I-6. The RH I-6 towers are completely different, the 63-72 C/10-30 w/292 used a #668 RH tower while the 66-72 C/10-30 w/250 used a #664 RH tower. Also per the parts book, the #291 bracket/cup on the motor itself is the same used on both LH/RH 292 I-6 and the LH 250 I-6, the RH 250 I-6 bracket/cup was #292. Mel.

Well then they must be for a v8. Makes me wonder how someone thought they were for a 292. I will change the thread.
