Alternator wiring

After reading the recent threads I took a look at my alternator. I notice this black wire and others dangling near a post. I have had no issues with starting or charging but it seems odd, Should it be bolted on the post? The gauge on the dash seems to blow a lot of small fuses but other than that no issues.

Re: Alternator wiring

Yes, that wire should be grounded to the case.
