paint prices
wow prices out a gallon of paint today, 240-160 a gollon for 2000 vette yellow. wow I thought performance parts were lots but paint and supplies are insane

I have around a $1000 in paint and primer for my truck...it's rediculous. But for the time you spend getting it ready for a good paint job, it's a shame to try to save $300 when 5 years later you may be very sorry.

Yeh , what is the reason for the out of proportion prices on paint materials , is it law suits and insurance costs passed on to us ?

Pigments and binders are expensive. Compare red paint to black paint sometime. Same paint except for the pigment and you'll see a 3:1 price difference. Plus there's a hell of a markup on this stuff. The factories all use water based paint so the specialty stuff does have a rather small market. Supply and demand .
