Pics of Just Returned From Paint Jail

I already posted the story of this in the "What Did You Do To Your Truck Today" thread with the prices and time, and fun stuff, etc.:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=401176

So, here are a few pics before the clean-up and replacing parts...Wish we could post a little higher rez so you could really see the work.....
But I understand.

Re: Pics of Just Returned From Paint Jail

Thanks. Glad you like it.

It's Paint Code 792.

A 2013 Mercedes color...among many other models, I'd guess.
"Palladium Silver Metallic" in the Mercedes nomenclature.

Took a long time to choose it.

Re: Pics of Just Returned From Paint Jail

very nice color. I am thinking of silver for my blazer project. One thing i would suggest, paint the tailgate letters a darker shade (similar to the taillights, to make them pop out)...just my preference otherwise very nice!

Thanks for the suggestion.
The highlighting and pinstriping are in the "thinking" stages right now.
We're pretty much planning on keeping it kind of "tailored".

Two small pinstripes down the upper body/bed line. One with a little darker shade of silver and one the black cherry color of the interior.

On the front of the hood and upper rear of the tailgate, I think we're going to go with something like this:
Three colors: the two colors mentioned and the addition of one line in a silver lighter than the body. Smaller in the
front than on the t-gate.

Maybe the gate letters in that same darker shade of silver, as you suggest.

Re: Pics of Just Returned From Paint Jail

Thanks, Everyone.

I appreciate the thumbs up.

We just got back from a car show up at Bass Lake. Sad little show. But I scoped out some striping options.

I think we may go with something mild like these....The front and back will be different shape and color, but the same style.
And the side stripes will wrap inside the doors and door frames, and have a tame design/scroll to terminate on the front and ends.
We were thinking to go with the sedate silver, we should go with something like this (gettin' old, you know):

Of course, we're always open to suggestions...

Re: Pics of Just Returned From Paint Jail

Normally im not a fan of this but with how the rear looks a front bumper painted to match the exterior of the truck might look good.

Now for the tailgate letters maybe a dark grey or black if you want to keep it stealthy not draw a lot of attention

If you wanted to do something that does draw more attention id say do the letter to match one of the pinstripe colors

^^^
All just suggestions, 100% up to what is your style /taste
