292 w/ ps

Just aquired a 1971 292 with ps set up included . Am going to put engine and ps into my 66 long bed. What steering set up must I have to make all this work? What type of ps was available in 1966? would anyone have any good clear photos of a inline 6 set-up. Maybe the part numbers needed?

Pick up a 71 power steering box, and Captainfab's bracket!

Nice score, btw.

Here are a few pics , if yours is a 292 make sure it has the cut out in the bracket for the bypass hose.... 230/250 brackets wont work

Re: 292 w/ ps

Personally I wouldn't bother with the original power assist steering that was available on these trucks, unless you're going for a factory restoration.. The integral power steering is much better IMO.

You will need a '68-'87 C series power steering box. Since you already have the pump, you would be better off to get a '68-'80 steering box as those still have the SAE style hose fittings. That is what your pump will have. I sell the steering box adapter and the tube and flange for this installation.
