Dash problem
I have a 66 gmc that the dash has been hacked up in all ways possible. The last owner has the CB mounted in the dash on top of the radio and speakers mounted on the top of the dash. My question is how hard is it to replace the entire dash from a junk yard donor, or has anyone bought a fiberglass dash blank from USbody???????????? Please help

i haven't attempted to remove mine, but from what i have read its a pain in the poo hole to remove. the biggest thing that you have to do is drill out all of the spot welds that go along the back edge of the dash. i would send a pm to jerry. i think that he would have some tips on that. but you also might be able to weld in some patch panels

I agree with above, it may be easier to get donor patches, and replace what you need.

It's not hard at all. 2 or 3 bolts on each side of the dash
and about 25 spot welds where the dash meets the windshield. Last edited by David Flores; 11-24-2007 at 10:00 AM. |

its not hard just have a spot weld cutter me and a buddy removed one from a parts truck tooks us the better part of the day and came out jacked up but thats cuz we used a crowe bar sledge hammer and our shoes so usee a spot weld cutter

thanks for the help, maybe thats what i'll do then, my truck is a GMC but i already have a chevy grille, door sill plates and tailgate so why not a chevy dash lol. they look better anyways
