Cool Lucky SOB or a thief? Vote: white letter or not!

Getting back to business, here are the pics of my truck with its new wheels. I only paid $100.00 for all four!! I gave up my rally 15X8 as a trade too though. Am I a thief or a lucky SOB??

Here the rest: http://home.mindspring.com/~gchemist.../truckrear.jpg http://home.mindspring.com/~gchemist/wheels/truckwh.jpg http://home.mindspring.com/~gchemist...s/truckwhl.jpg http://home.mindspring.com/~gchemist.../truckwhle.jpg

The wheels sure make my tires look really small now. You can definately tell the engineered 1 inch wider travel path of the front tires compared to the rear. The front tires are completely flush with the body while the rear are inside the bed wheel wells. Saved some weight by switching wheels now I just need a new tonneau cover to add weight again.

I'm going to be buying two new 255/60R15 for the front soon. Now should I turn the white letters out or not? The letters are "Cooper Cobra's" and "Radial GT". Which would look better black wall or letters out?

On the tires, it depends on the look you are goin for;
slamed and smoothed....black walls.
hot rod/muscle truck....white letters.
From the looks of your rig right now, either way will work.

The hot rod;
a'69 G.M.C. Short/Fleet. 350 W/a heluva cam and nice stance. Still a beater though. Trying to clean up the left over damage from the Dope-Smokin-Old-Man...a real bummer. See it at http://geocities.com/andys_69_gmc/

I like the clean, monochrome look and make every effort to get rid of the "busy" look from tire lettering, extra chrome etc. But that is what makes this a wonderful hobby...it only has to look good to you!

I've always shyed away from having the letters out. Personal preference I suppose. I think you made out like a bandit on your rims though. Look nice enough for me for only 100 bucks.

Thanks for the compliments. I think I'll stick with black wall for now. Once I buy a set of Cobra's for the front I might try the white letters out for a while. I like to rotate my tires for good thread life so I can always change back to black wall after 5000 miles.

I like the black sidewalls out...
Would you be interested in some wheel spacers for the rear? I have a pair that I used on my 87 when I had the Impala wheels on it, and it really helped the looks as well as the handling out back. I bought them from http://www.performancewheel.com/ and didn't have any problems, they are 1.5" thick, and have their own studs. I traded the Impala wheels for those Eagle starts and they stuck out without the spacers, so I took them off, after that is when the truck was stolen and now they are useless to me, my new truck is 6 lug. If you are interested, just let me know... Tommy
