April 2016 ToTM
Well, you have all been waiting for this contest. This month we will compile and honor those that set the basis for our truck’n world. The theme of this month’s TOTM is
Beat it to Fit, Sorta Paint it to Match. As you can probably guess, the theme for this month will be our less than perfect specimens; our beaters, our beasts, our rust-buckets, our TRUCKS. Now here are the rules or criteria for the vehicles To be an eligible beater Open to all years and models of Trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, and Jimmys.
You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck. Once you decide on who you wish to nominate, just add your nomination to this thread. We will need two pictures minimum (at least one full view of the vehicle) with/for the nomination as well as the owner’s board name, and the Make/Model/Year of vehicle. Nominees will run through March 24. The first 15 nominees that meet the criteria will participate in the contest. I will PM the nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. If the owner has a preferred picture they want used in the contest, please let me know in a PM. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Poll Thread will be set up by March 25 in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all that voting has begun. The Poll will run thru the morning of April 1 and the official announcement of the winner will be on the evening of April 1. The announcement of the TOTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.

Re: April 2016 ToTM
Well here's another GMC--- has there really only been two entries so far? We got this '55 GMC 100 in 2009 as an escapee from scrap. It hadn't run since 1997. Got it running but it was two more years before it was titled in my name.
Full brake system is new, including e-brake system. I converted it to electric wipers and washers added from a '97 Dodge caravan. New tires in 2013 are mounted on the original wheels from my 1970 GMC Jimmy with early 1990's S-15 hubcaps and trim rings. A bunch of '64 Chevy pickup parts went into it also. Heater box was modified to accept 70's heater motors. Radiator carriage was torched out beyond rebuilding so I built one from scratch and used the 1964 radiator. Powered by the mid-sixties Chevy 230 I-6 that was in it when I got it, SM420 transmission. Pics speak better than description. 1-First day owned 2-In the back yard 3-Earning it's keep hauling blizzard debris 4-Won an "Ugly Truck" contest last September 5-Legal year of vehicle plates approved by the state DMV recently.
