Spent a lot of money today

I got my tax return today. Came home and ordered the following.

Gm L31-R crate engine: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-12530283
Edelbrock 2116 : http://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-2116/overview/
Mallory 4309 Fuel Pressure Regulator:
Fel-Pro MS98000T Manifold Gasket Set:
Melonized Distributor gear:

And a few other odd and ends.

But now seeing the price tag I'm feeling bad that I spent all that money. Hopefully when it all gets here and I get around to putting it in the truck. The smile while be back on my face.

It feels sooo good when you click the button to add to your cart. But once you click submit is when it all sinks in a little. Keep us posted when it comes in...don't forget the pics.

I started adding up what I have in mine roughly. Then I quit adding. It's probably better that way.

Thats why I usually buy a little at a time... and try not to add it all up later.

Nah, that is not a lot of money....

This is a lot of money!

All funnies aside, congrats on your new engine. Nothing like the sounds and smells of a new engine firing up.

Re: Spent a lot of money today

That L31, in my opinion, is probably the only crate engine bargain ! It will be a great running stock engine and a great foundation if you ever want to upgrade the cam specs too.

Re: Spent a lot of money today

Made some good progress today despite being cold out. Motor in, Trans bolted back up (minus trans mount. Which I can't seem to find one that fits). Exhaust, intake, carb, and water pump.

Same here on my K30 resto, especially after going the Cummins swap route
I just tell myself it's worth it.

Re: Spent a lot of money today

The TBI is in a box, sitting on the floor. After a year of trying to get it to run right. And spending a ton of money on it. I got tried of it and just put a carb on. FI is great when it's working, but once it goes bad it's a PITA.

Re: Spent a lot of money today

My '87 had a weird trans mount. I took the remnants of it to one of the box stores and matched it up.
