crack in leaf spring

hi everyone, my dad and i are going to restore our 1966 k-20. we removed the utlity body and found a crack in the top leaf spring. we would like to know what our options are. if we have to replace the spring, we would be interested in doing a whole lift kit. is there any company out there that makes a lift kit for this year truck. Re: crack in leaf spring

Definitely need a new spring. It will pretty much be required to replace both sides because otherwise I doubt the truck would sit level. As far a lift kits Im not sure off the top of my head whats available and from who. If you want to just replace what you got a spring shop would be your best bet and you can have custom leafs springs made your preference on the spot. Its about the same price as getting off the shelf stuff but the quality is usually a lot better from a spring shop.

chuck 'em.
even if you replace the main, you still have a 50 yr old pack, plus the hassle of taking them apart.
if your going 4" or less, shackle flips with new stock springs would work real nice

As far as I know there is not a lift "kit" available for your truck. For my K-10 I had a local spring shop make me new springs with a 2" lift. That would be my suggestion for you as well. You could then have them made to whatever amount of lift you want.

Re: crack in leaf spring

your tk already sets fairly high now,. I would go with new springs all around if $$$ permits. rear is on blocks already and if you raise it much more, maybe steering drag-ling problems. good luck--
