65 gmc/Chevy 4x4 power steering?

Have any of you folks done power steering with a crossover on the Dana 44 used in the 3/4 ton 60-66 trucks? Is there a knuckle top I can use on the passenger side so I could run a dragline down from my new power box to the passenger knuckle? Or do I have to keep the power setup like the stock system which steers from the driver side knuckle?

Re: 65 gmc/Chevy 4x4 power steering?

I was gonna do this when I had my 62. Since the boxes bolt on the same way, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Company I bought the plate from said it won't, but he didn't know why it wouldn't. the knuckle is easy, find em on ebay, or if swapping the whole axle, up to 75-76 1/2 or 3/4 ton will have it. Jeeps in the 80s had the flat top too....

I don't believe you will be able to find 60-68 knuckle parts that will allow a crossover to steer the passenger side and drag the drivers.

To my knowledge, all the passenger side stuff just has the small king pin caps. No provisions for steering arms in that era for the passenger side. At least for the Dana 44 stuff.

This is my understanding as of now, as well. No harm - can do the modified driver side knuckle arm (welding I was trying to avoid but I will have a pro do it right).

Stock push/pull I am OK with completely actually. Just hoping to find a shortened arm or have one fabbed.
