When I got mine it gave measurements to draw out the template that needed to be cut out (i.e. distance from top of tailgate, from the sides, etc.). Turns out the Jap made instructions were translated sideways, so instead of a vertical rectangle hole I had a horizontal one. Welding fixed that. Seems like you should just be able to find the center of the tailgate on the back, hold up the handle plate, and figure out your cut. It's been a long while since I did mine so it's hard to remember.

Guess what they made 100 of them backwards. Thats why I couldn't figure it out. The lip is at the wrong end. They way it was made you would have had to stand in the bed and pull the handle towards the front of the truck. SEE.

I got mine from Sir Michael's. It didn't come with any measurements either. I don't know if they forgot to include it or what. All I did was start cutting small, and just worked my way bigger. It's really easy to do! Just cut a bit at a time till the bracket drops into place.
