What's the going rate...1969 SWB Shell

No - I don't own it...and I am waiting on pix (which doesn't help)...

Had a guy offer me a SWB shell - no engine/trans/column - the rest is there for $500.

I have a buddy who rebuilds engines/trans on the side so that isn't the issue and he could locate that stuff for me.

I will update the post when I get pix - just curious to know what the going rate was for this...

I just watched a 72 SWB on ebay (in my area) go for $800 in a few hours...and it didn't have much solid metal. I was actually surprised to see it go for that and that fast...

There wasn't a rocker, a door sill, or a outer floor pan...

Here is the link - Ebay Item #320179670126 - <----This is not the truck that I am buying...just a price reference point for my area.

Thanks Everybody!

Re: What's the going rate...1969 SWB Shell

Update - got some older pix - waiting on newer pix...of the floors, rockers, bed, cab mounts, kick panels, windshield frame, interior, etc.

He may also have a better bed to exchange that one with.

Let me know...

Thx!

It depends on the condition of the sheetmetal. It can go from the value of a rolling frame and a few incidentals with a beat or rusted body to a truck that you just slip drivetrain of choice into.$500 isn`t alot to pay for a short frame with good suspension, brakes, etc.

Edit:I just saw you posted a link.My computer`s messed up and freezes when I click links. My info may still be helpful, though.

Sounds like too much rust in the cab to me (just talked to the guy) - if anybody wants the details to the location of it/contact number- let me know and I can provide it.

This matches my thinking. $500 seems right for a rolling frame with good brakes. If body pieces don't fall off as you roll it down off the trailer, That's just gravy. I'd jump on it.

Where I live the frame is worth more than 500. Doesn't seem like a bad deal

Re: What's the going rate...1969 SWB Shell

At this point, i'd almost be willing to pay $500 for the bed alone.

I'd jump on it.
