1968 Chevy C10 Panel Truck question?

Does anyone have any idea how much an original 1968 panel truck is worth if it's in great condition?

To determine if it is in good condition you need to crawl underneath and look at the body supports and bottom of the floorboards. I looked at a 1970 Chevy truck here in Iowa today. It looked great just looking at the outside but all of the body supports/cab mounts were rusted badly underneath and patches had been welded over a lot of rust in the floorboards. They didn't cut out the rust and do it right, they just welded sheet metal over it. That thing looks killer from the outside and should be worth some coin if it is truly in good condition. You didn't give near enough information about the truck to make a determination on value...

Re: 1968 Chevy C10 Panel Truck question?

Sorry about that, I mean just like a rough estimate on one in good condition with a good frame, 350 in it. Like how much would they sell for roughly? Hahah my grandfather would like to know for when he gets the truck done. Right now the truck is in terrible condition, on the outside tons of rust etc. We didn't even start it yet all we did we pull the radiator and start it, a lot of work to be done on it. I finally asked him if I could have it and fix it up with him but we can't seem to get off our asses and tow it to the garage where we work on the vehicles.

It takes a lot of dedication and money to fix a truck that has a lot of rust. The panel truck would be a good candidate for a re-do because they are pretty hard to find. Done right, as a driver, value could be in the 7-10k range. To do it right all of the rusty metal would have to be cut out and replaced with new metal, body mount bushings replaced, interior re-done, and on, and on.....

Re: 1968 Chevy C10 Panel Truck question?

Thanks for the information about the truck it helps a lot. This is my grandfather and I's first project we knew we had to cut out the rust and get panels for it but not about the body mount bushings. We were also told my a friend that restores cars that we should pull the entire front end off and replace it with a new one because it got into a car accident in 98 and it's easier for the people that are going to fix the frame(the frame is bent from the accident) without the front end on it. But the reason for this post was to actually ask when it would be worth when it be DONE lol sorry I didn't say that before.
