Best '72 Windshileds

Hey All,

My '72 C20 has a growing crack in the windshield, who makes the best fitting, price, and quality replacements? Is the replacement easy to do and who has any tips to help it go easier? Thanks!!

Re: Best '72 Windshileds

I just bought one for my '72 C20 from LMC Truck. I should get it tomorrow. Not interested in installing myself –*leaving that to the pros – but I'll let you know how it goes.

Best of luck,
Mike

Good idea leaving it to the pros for install. I took mine in last week and as they were putting in the last corner it broke and this is at a professional glass shop that has been around forever. The truck is going in tomorrow morning for the second try. I'll let you know if they get it this time. As a footnote the new windshield is about 5/8th's as thick as the original. When I mentioned it to them they said that is all that is available today but the green tint is throughout the windshield like the original .

Pilkington. My son is a glazier with 20 years experience. The local glass companies call him for muscle car stuff. He says Pilkington... period.

Re: Best '72 Windshileds

Id let your local glass shop supply the windshield. That way if they break the first one they only loose the profit.

They got it done today with no problems. They used my new gasket with my original trim. I guess the old gasket ripped on the corners.
