78 c20 manual gearbox?

hi ive bought a 78 c20 parts truck that has no engine but has a straight 6 exhast manifold in the bay. it has a manual gearbox that appears to be a turbo v8 pattern with a starter hole on the right at the bottom are these boxes the same as there v8 brothers? would it survive behind a 454 (if it bolts up?)

Re: 78 c20 manual gearbox?

It's probably a NP 465 if it's a 78.Not sure about the sixes,but the V8s used the same bell housing.I have a 1980 K20 with 454 & the 465 behind it since about 1990. No troubles with it,the older I get,easier on truck too!!!
