welding a tailgate closed

Has anyone done this before?

My truck does not currently have a tailgate. One of the ideas I have iis getting a smooth gate for it and welding all the seems so it flows right into a roll pan.

Re: welding a tailgate closed

You know, I saw that thread recently and never noticed the tail gate/roll pan

That's pretty much what I had in mind.

Re: welding a tailgate closed

well you will need to first tack it in place. the alternate your welds, like top bottom middle. this way you won't warp your gate and end up having to spend more time attempting to fix it.
