Im an engine whore!

Geeeesh, do any of you other guys go through engines on a regular?! lol...so far since May Ive had a 283, 350 and now about to have a 454 delivered to me tomorrow afternoon! Hopefully the 454 swap will be smooth, it has a TH400 but Im using my built TH350. The motor is bone stock but rebuilt and going to have mid length headers. Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and if any guys in Socal- LA would like to help with the swap come through and beers/pizza on me!

Re: Im an engine whore!

When the PO of my '66 burb bought it in '71 it had a 283 with low miles. He used it to tow his small fishing boat. Bought a bigger boat and swapped in a 327. A few years later he got another, biggger boat and put in a 350. He said the 327 towed better but wanted to go bigger so some time in the late 80s he put in the 454. I'm pondering the idea of putting in a newer 6 liter with an auto, but the 454 4spd is fun to drive!

Re: Im an engine whore!

The only suggestion I can offer is the way you swap engines you should just use large wingnuts for your motor mounts...

Where abouts in Lost Angeles are you, and when is the wrench session planned??
