lowering leaf springs
1963 gmc with rear leaf springs. i would like to lower 3 to 4 inchs in the rear. dana 44 rear end. what are some of my options? thanks

You might want to use a combination of a drop shackle and de-arching the springs or just have them de-arched the full amount by a spring shop. If you have the springs out of the vehicle, it shouldn't cost you much more than $100-$150.

You can try taking out a couple of leafs. The GMC usually had more than enough spring, removing a leaf or two could improve the ride.
A local spring shop can be a big help on this. They can de-arch like C-10 mentioned, or build all new springs that are the right height.
