anyone have any good ideas? i ws thinking about clam shelling them and c-clamping the corners or taking a fender odd and trying to lay one side in. the ol' crew cab is off duty right now so i cant use that

Trailer would be best.

I have carried a bed upside down strapped to my bed, and it was pretty sketchy.

Carried a fleet side upside down with the rails c clamped like you with ratchet straps to the frame on my truck. I used old bike tires in between the bed rails which kept the paint safe and the bed from slipping

Could always cut a couple of stakes as well to locate the bed. Also if you use carpet scraps it will clamp down tight.

Is it a replacement for your current bed? I removed my bed, installed temporary lights, picked up the "new" bed, bolted her down and drove home. 4 bolts secured the new bed until I could get home.

Bingo, that's exactly how I did mine. I used clamps made for securing a camper down but a C clamp should work fine. I cut some 2x2's to put in the stake pockets as alignment "dowels". Clamped in all 4 corners and shut the tailgates and it worked fine.

Exactly, Hauled this all the way home from Spokane to Minneapolis and didn't budge a bit. C clamped the back also for cheap insurance.

any time ive carried a bed on my truck ive gone and gotten a dozen clamps and three 2X4s.. I clamp a 2X4 to my exisiting bed using two clamps ( i have eight foot beds on all my trucks so i use one front center and rear installed this way) and then i flip the bed i want to carry unside down and back of that bed towards the back window and then i use the remaining clamps to clamp the thing down on the other side of the 2X4.. Ive gone 200 miles like that without a hitch. YOu can strap it too if you want and i check the clamps every 50 or so miles like i would if i had a strapped down load on a flatbed trailer

This is how I hauled a 6' fleet side with my little Mazda. I picked it up about 90 miles away from home one day. It did not move a bit on the ride home.

Two 2/4's laid down across the box from driverside to passanger and lay the box upside down so that the bed rails would be touching except for the wood between them and just strap it good, seen it once before leaving a junk yard

If the beds are the same type or size, then I would definitely look at cutting some 2X2 wood stakes and put them in the stake pockets. Turn the other bed upside down and insert the stakes into the pockets on it, now tie off the bed to the truck and away you go.

Yea my dad bought a replacement bed for his old plow truck and brought it home that way

alright, i cut some steaks for the pocket and i grabbed some canopy clamps. im sure those would hold it just fine but i'll throw some straps on it fro good measure and so i dont get pulled over for unsecured load. its going to suck with my tiny little mirrors
