Front & Rear Limited Slip?

I did a search after seeing these stickers on the back of the cab that came on my project truck, and found out that it was an option to have a posi front axle. I know the limited slip warning was commonly found on these trucks but i was wondering if anyone has seen one for the front like this. Did they make them from the factory like this? Of course my truck came without a glove box door (therefore no SPID) so i cant check to see if it was an option. The truck seemed pretty original other than the paint and some custom interior touches. The labels are exactly the same except the front one was edited to say "front" with red X's. Anyone else come across this? or was this just a sweet custom touch done by the PO?

Re: Front & Rear Limited Slip?

It was an option back in the day, but I would bet that the factory made a better looking sticker. (not crossed out rear)

I would pull the cover off and see for myself. It's old, who knows what has been done over the last several decades...

Re: Front & Rear Limited Slip?

The stickers are in the correct location and style for these trucks. The posi instruction goes above the jack intructions as shown and are located over the floor jack towage location. I have not seen a double posi sticker for the front , however they did offer this as a option with the dana 44 so this looks very plausible. It also eem to make sene that the rear being more plentiful would get its own sticker, while the front would be limited at bet and could get a XXXXX out and retyped verion

Re: Front & Rear Limited Slip?

It almost looks factory to me too. However it wasnt until i posted these pictures that i noticed there is a 3rd limited slip sticker underneath both of these. You can see it if you look closely at the 2nd pic. So now i dont know what to think.
and dont mind the daddy longleg spider in the first pic...

Re: Front & Rear Limited Slip?

I have seen what you have before and believe it is factory. The third label isn't a warning,is it? The warning stickers are there for liability reasons and as said before, not many front posis were ordered to warrant it's own label. GM is frugal like that.
