Camaro Rear Caliber Install?

I purchased brackets from CaptainFab to install camaro rear calibers on my 71 C10. They make use of the rotor for 94-96 Impala's.

Has anyone had issues with rotors fully seating on stock axles? Mine seem to not want to slide all the way on. Have others had to file center down? When I install caliber the caliber mounting bracket is hitting the outside of rotor.

I definitely remember that being a thing, but I think It's usually with aftermarket axles that have a larger diameter.

In the photo, it looks like the CALIBER of the rotor is too thick for the CALIPER.

Re: Camaro Rear Caliber Install?

I've used the Camaro calipers on a few hot rod projects. I use Moser axles and tell them the rotors I'm using.
In your case I would first get the rotors to slide over the axle resister. You may have to use a die grinder to open up the brake rotor hole a bit.
Then I would shim the caliper and or the caliper bracket as needed to center the caliper. Don't use regular washers. Use machine bushings for shims. They are thin and very flat.

Good info thank you!

Will those work if you have 15 inch rims and tires?

Re: Camaro Rear Caliber Install?

I have basically the same setup on my 80 Camaro running 18" wheels. With 15" rims just eye balling my setup I think they would just clear. But it really depends what your 15" wheel is. You may have issues with the rim or the center section hitting the caliper.
