Air suspension...What would you do??
Hi guys, I'm a newbie at this air suspension. My pickup is 71 short bed with a 5.3 and a 4L80e trans. I'm looking for an easy straight forward kit, preferably mostly bolt in without a whole lot of extra fabrication.
If you had 3000 to 5000 to spend hopefully of the lower end, minus the air management kit, what would you do? I'm not looking for the cheapest kit but I would like to stay on budget. I'm not opposed to spending more to do it right because I am a paraplegic and being stranded and having to wrench on my vehicle on the side of a road isn't the most ideal situation. What I'm wanting??? Laying frame isn't a huge priority if it's going to cost me twice as much. I want a good riding reliable vehicle with the LEAST amount of problems for I know there will be some. Thanks for the help or suggestions Last edited by 1971cuda; 11-22-2017 at 06:39 PM. |

Go to someone who knows how. No offense to your friend but if you havent lowered a truck or any vehicle, you should consult someone who has professionally.
Folks on this forum and others have seen some real hack jobs before.

I would have your friend consult somebody who has done it before......like one of the vendors on this site. He will gain experience and with the help of members here the job will be done right!

Re: Air suspension...What would you do??
Start with a priority set. Answer these questions (you have already answered a couple...):
I am more interested in ride quality and handling, than car show appearance. (Y/N) I am more interested in showing my vehicle. I want my car to be the lowest vehicle at every show. (Y/N) I want a bolt on installation with little or no welding. I plan on driving my car XXXX miles per year, so reliability matters. I prefer Analog (manual adjustment) or Digital (computer controlled) air suspension management.

Talk to Travis at http://www.azproperformance.com/home.php Hes a vendor on this forum he carried all the good name brand stuff and can put you together a kit to fit your needs.Unless you have some huge rims his basic bag kits front and rear will work for you.
