WTB Upper radiator tube for '72 4x4

I'm in need of a nice steel upper radiator tube for my '72 4x4. I'd also like to know if anyone has good details on the best length for the 2 straight portions of hose.

Dan

Re: WTB Upper radiator tube for '72 4x4

Hello Dantip,

I run 6" and 3.75"(radiator and thermostat sides respectively) of the 1.5" straight radiator hose. I have repo pipes, 1-aluminzed and 1-SS on hand ready to ship. PM sent, Bruce

Some pitting on the ends but solid. Hoses will cover pitting.

$60 shipped CONUS.

Re: WTB Upper radiator tube for '72 4x4

I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in here even though it wasn't asked for. Posting an 'I'll Take It if the OP passes' on an offered part in someone else's WTB ad totally destroys the OP's ability to negotiate with the person offering the part he was seeking. It's perfectly the norm to do so in a normal part for sale ad, but not a WTB. If DANTIP DID want it - he couldn't really say "would you do $55 shipped?" because the person offering knows someone else is interested at the higher price. Posting a separate WTB ad would be more appropriate. I'll shut up now - but I see this often and it drives me nuts.

Not sure what tenure or activity level has to do with common sense or common courtesy. I'd submit that most folks posting WTB threads do not appreciate what amounts to bidding competition within their own thread.
EDIT: DANTIP, my apologies for butting in.

I second this opinion and your saying you will take it is interfering with a sale which is against the forum rules....

Well, if its tenure, then I'm member 187. I agree with JOCKO, but its always been a issue in the FS area. Just use PM for a private conversation. My .02 cents. Sorry for the distraction, BLT gmc made me 3 Stainless steel pipes. They fit better than OE.

David,
Nice job on the packing on the tailgate piece - got it today. Thanks. I haven't found a rule (maybe I'm missing it) that says "if someone doesn't take it you will" can't be posted in a WTB. What I have understood for many years is that you are supposed to post your communications in the thread, not pm. Beating a dead horse here IMO. Incidentally, I've been on the board longer that either of the two earlier members who thought I needed their thoughts on the matter.
Again thanks for the tailgate piece. Rick

Re: WTB Upper radiator tube for '72 4x4

Since we're beating the dead horse, the wet behind the ears poster that joined the forum two whole months after you did never stated it was against forum rules. He said it destroyed the OP's ability to negotiate on a part offered by someone to fill his WTB request. That's pretty self explanatory.

Re: WTB Upper radiator tube for '72 4x4

Is it against the rules? If you are a subscribing member, no, technically it isn’t. Is it in poor taste? Yes, but poor taste isn’t against board rules...why not simply post your own WTB ad since you have the ability?

PM sales are against board rules, so if you are going to swoop in, at least keep it in the thread.

It does happen here ALL the time, not much you can do about it...parts are sold, time to move on.
