Re: Tractor thread?

My dad just picked up this one, 1979 John Deere 401C Loader Backhoe. Built in Dubuque, Ia (the factory is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year).

Re: Tractor thread?

I'll have to find some pictures. I have a B2650 Kubota with a front end loader & various 3 point and loader attachments. Use it all over our 5 acres.

Cool a Late 8N.

I know the kids had a fun time with that.

I have been wanting a swinging drawbar for my 8n.

It has the bottom plate and what appears to be the original pin.

L series right? My b2650 I'm pretty sure was a transition from the b to L series because it's definitely a bigger framed machined from my buddies B2601. I love it, perfect size for what I need. I did just find out I'm getting a John Deere 1530 with FEL and 6 foot bush hog from the old owner of the property we bought last year.

L2501 - no emissions garbage.

It's done a bunch of work the last couple weeks clearing snow.

Yup, got to do what you can to stay away from that! Emissions stuff and the lack of supply last year was how I ended up with what I did. Found it used with 90hrs on a farm in Amish Country PA, great price & still carried a warranty!

Re: Tractor thread?

Absolutely!! because of the required 'smog' and def requirements on equipment beginning in 2014. Anything older and in decent shape is demanding a premium price. I've been looking for a larger excavator and all I see are really stupid prices for wooped machinery with a huge amount of hours on them. Worn out tracks, sloppy pins and bushings that need replacement. A lot of times leaking hoses and neglected maintenance. Torn out seats. With that being said, I can double my money on my Ford 545C, even though I just put 2k into the tires alone.

Yeah, I was looking something used but there wasn't any, so I jumped for the 25hp No DEF new one while I still could. Money in the bank is losing value every day so maybe the tractor will still be worth something in a few years.

Its not just used tractors, just about all equipment is up and its not just because of emissions requirements. Our factories are experiencing component supply shortages and long lead times just like auto makers and that limits the volume of machines that can be produced, especially when you build only what has orders not just to stock dealers. Demand for new is high but since supply is lower than normal, prices are up across the board.

Several inches of fresh snow fell overnight and more on the way. The Kubota blower makes quick work of the snow.

Tried the grapple attachment this week clearing downed limbs, trunks, and some thick thorny brush. Worked great and I didn’t see one tick.
