The only real crappy part about it is that I have to keep the heat at about 7degrees all winter as it has a a bathroom and thus running water. For some reason when they built the garage, they put the water meter in there. So i cant even drain the system in the winter. Just means I have work in there with regularity or else I’m just throwing money away.
Nice. You are fortunate to have such a garage in town. I'm in the sticks and there is no place to locate anything that size on the property. Looking forward to moving where it can happen, or buy a play that already has what I need like you did.

Black Sheep. I think you need to clean your garage. I think I see a speck of dust in there.

My wife sneaks out there before I get home from work and cleans up, she's a little OCD about it. It didn't always look like that, while my '58 was being painted I gave the garage a much needed makeover. Before and after...

Re: Lets see your garage

That's awesome Tim!

My earthwork, foundation, floor, block, and driveway is where most of the $ went. 30 truckloads of dirt were removed, we cut 5' out of the adjacent hill. Floor is 5" thick and we added footers for the lift. Ended up around 17K.

Black sheep, that's what I'm going for! I'm planning on an Orange/White/Blue paint scheme.

Mine will probably only ever be that clean the day it's done.

Well, you have a shop you stick built with continuous footers and foundation. That is a righteous building. Concrete will getcha. I had already graded for a 24 x 24 years ago. I had posts and beams up. I ran into trouble with my neighbors over other things and decided to abort that project. That was 12 years ago and after no building now I'm doing a shoe box. I got tired of the truck sitting out, knew I'd be moving in not too terribly long (I hope), and had all that laying around toward the materials. I have more money in the two 13' lengths of gutter, two downspouts, and Leaf Relief gutter covering than anything else. I used that old German siding and now it looks old like my house.

Re: Lets see your garage

After the concrete cured I picked up a lift from advantage lift in Pa. Fairly easy to assemble.

Re: Lets see your garage

Here is a night pic of my 25' x 40'. Need tall ceilings for a lift and mine is 13 ft. It also has central heat & air and surround sound stereo system. A soundproof room for the 80-gal air compressor. I can park 4 cars, three on the floor and one in the air.

Re: Lets see your garage

Kinda funny. Go check out my post (#82 in this thread) back in late 2019 and now a recent one. Same truck, only on the road now and a new project beside it.

Re: Lets see your garage

This is my 35x52 shop that I built in late 2019. We did most of the work ourselves. I am in the process of finally getting my bathroom finished. Been a long term project. Next is ceiling and central air. Already out of room!

Re: Lets see your garage

Hello,
I am curious what the difference in price of a metal garage versus wood is? If i put quotes in I will be barraged with emails from the various places. I got a quote yesterday for a 26x30 metal for over $20k and that is diy and I already have concrete.
Thanks for any input
Ron

Re: Lets see your garage

2 years ago I had a 24 x 36 metal pole barn with three large garage doors built on an unprepared site for $20k including site work. It took them 3 days and I added the concrete months later for another $4k. The following year I added electric service from the pole with a 150 amp service and lots of outlets and light for another $4k. So $28k all in without insulation which I’m in progress of doing now.
