factory cruise has to be one of the rarest options out there. of the 200 or so trucks i've parted out over the years i only had two with factory installed cruise control-one was a 72 cheyenne super and the other was a 68 gmc suburban.

I know I'm talking different years here, but in 1976 I ordered a short box 4x4 fleetside with a lot of small items like tilt, cruise, dual exhaust, clock, and etc. I looked that truck up this summer with thoughts of restoring it, found it, but it was sitting in a field. The drivers door, hood, engine, etc were gone along with the steering column, this still belongs to the guy I sold it to. I kept asking if it had the column, but he wasn't to interested to looking, still would like to have it back if he could find the column. Were they that rare in 76, I tried to order PW, but was told they were N/A. It was a pretty truck, blue on blue with cloth buckets, he didn't know where they were either, he had buildings full of stuff, don't think he ever sold anything.

Or to the f/s thread... How does one commit or get in line without knowing year/style? Complete setup? Pictures? Price?

Re: Coming Soon

Cool stuff for sure. All parts there are familiar to me, however, the carb end of the servo cable is different from the ones I have seen as well as the bracket. Can you get an overall measurement of the servo cable? Trucks were about 45 inches and the passenger cars were about 24 inches.

Jerry, The 72 Cheyenne Super you parted out with cruise control, was it on the SPID? I am curious as it is generally believed that cruise was only offered as a dealer installed option in 71-72 so it would not have appeared on a SPID. However, i was told that someone posted a 71 SPID with cruise, thus , my question. I have a 72 Cheyenne Super with cruise. It is all installed per the dealer installation instructions so I am pretty sure a dealer installed it.

I parted these trucks over 20 years ago and the glove box doors are long gone. you might be correct-my memory aint what it used to be. a buddy of mine still has both set ups, the 68 was in the turn signal handle and the 72 was a button on the dash that said "cruise master". i'm sure he still has the 68 gb door since he didn't believe it was available in 68 and he is actually the one that removed it from the truck but i'll ask him if he has the 72 door.

Specific stud on carb with keeper, I should have that part laying around
