BLAZER Vs' JEEP...The Battle Begins!

BLAZER NATION,

I've always been a Jeep fan until, of course, i somehow ended up buying a Blazer. Anyway, now i own both a Jeep (Sahara Stealth) and a Blazer (MOAB; Mother Of All Blazers)

Yes, the battle has begun between these two relentless enemies and you shall be the witnesses.

Take a look and tell me who you think will win?

win what?

what axles are in the jeep?
how hard do you wheel?

the blazer would smoke the jeep if you can keep those bogger from turning the axle shaft into toothpicks.

As far as coolness goes, the Blazer wins. For wheelin', it looks like the heep is better setup (although it has too much lift for those tires.) The boggers on the Blazer are going to eat your axles.

I don't give the stock axles long to live if you wheel it...

I don't know... That jeep has a lot of plastic on it, and I am willing to bet that it will break up just like that plastic jeep that my little boy has. My boy also has the yellow JL blazer and it is holding up except that he has flattened the windshield frame (I think it is his attempt to give the blazer more rake look)

Re: BLAZER Vs' JEEP...The Battle Begins!

They both serve a purpose, lookin' bad as#! If I was gonna wheel either one it'd be the TJ.... Keep that one of a kind K5 all purdy like... If your just cruising around, the axles in the Blazer will hold up just fine. What kind of shape was the blazer in before you painted it? Any major body work?

That's to bad...your missing out on alot of fun.

You'll get two different answers to your question depending on what board you post it on.

Blazer board...BLAZER

Heep board...well, could be close.

Re: BLAZER Vs' JEEP...The Battle Begins!

They aren`t comparable in my book. The Jeep set the standard for the first off road toy and the Blazer set the standard for the full-size off road toy.
With what came from the factory the Blazer is a way tougher wheeler.Jeeps are so light-duty from the factory.I never see a true off road Jeep that hasn`t had most of the drivetrain swapped-out.Read an off road magazine, which all love the Jeep as a mainstay,it would seem. But,the best ones have a Chevy motor/trans/t-case and heavier axles/driveshafts.All the rest just break.
I wheeler the he!! out of a`71 Blazer with factory axles, lockers, and 37" Swampers and never knew it was supposed to break the axles. You put the same axles in a Jeep and you really have something to talk about. Are they putting 44s in Saharas now? That`s the best thing Jeep has done in way too many years, put 44s in the Rubicons.Shoulda done it all along,IMHO.That`s like having a Blazer with 1t axles.

Re: BLAZER Vs' JEEP...The Battle Begins!

What are the stats on the Blazer? Both are nice but in my book the K5 is unique and is more of an attention getter. There are tons of Jeeps out there but only a finite number of first gen K5's.
