Which Mustang II IFS?

Hi, I just bought a 50 Chevy 3100. I am getting ready to start the build and I am getting my parts list together. I have been looking at the differrent brands of IFS setups and wondered what you all recommend? Should I go with manual rack & pinion or power? Stock or 2" drop? I don't want to run bags.
I will be running a four link rear setup with coil overs.

Thanks for your advice,

Renegade

Re: Which Mustang II IFS?

Have you looked at Industrial Chassis Inc, Steve makes a crossmember for the A D trucks that uses 86 to 90 Dodge Dakota bolt on parts and they use a power Rack and Pinion the best part is this is a suspension from a truck about the same weight as our AD's. These parts fit like a glove with very little grinding and they come with the boxing plates as part of the crossmember.
The GMC that I am driving now has a Mll so this one I am going to use the Dakota it is for a 53 Chevy

Re: Which Mustang II IFS?

I have Heidts IFS with a 2" drop and power rack. It is probably the most expensive IFS but touted to be the best. I won't be trying it out for another 2 or 3 months (praying) so cannot testify as to how well it works yet.

Re: Which Mustang II IFS?

After reading your suggestions, I am leaning toward the Heidts. I really like the way they are set up. I also talked to one of the top rod shops in my area and they use Heidts 8 out of 10 times over the other popular brands.

Thanks for your help,
