58/59 clip on a 55 panel is it possible?

I thought I could swap a 58/59 front end onto a a 55, but have recently been told that complications will arise. I'd like some knowledge on this as I have no clue and am looking to spend $2000-$3000 on jumping into a project. I'm sure I could MAKE it fit, but if it's not a straight bolt-up, I'll probably stick with a 55-57 clip.

Thanks in advance, Jonny

the hood hinge bolts look like they may be in a different location on the firewall, and the 55 frame is shorter than than the 58-59 frames in the front, but only by a couple inches. you will have to make some new bumper mounts to put the front bumper in the right place.

Re: 58/59 clip on a 55 panel is it possible?

I figured out the frame thing, and I think I'll put the 55 body on a 59 frame. The 59 frame is readily available and I think the $200 tag is worth the day or 2 of properly modifying the 55 frame. The last part to figure out is how to bolt up the body parts.

help me, help me PLEASE! HELP ME!

Thanks!

they should just bolt right up.

i am using a 55 cab on my 59. cab mounts and the core support mounts are in the same place. if you use the 55 front end, you will need to trim the frame up front a couple inches and drill new holes for the bumper to mount. if using the 59 front end, everything should bolt together, except for the hood hinges. i haven't really analyzed/tackled that project yet, so i don't know what to say there, but you will likely have to drill new holes in the firewall to mount it properly
