Can someone give me the measurement between the stake pocket and the bracket that the tire mount attaches to? I drill tomorrow.

Thanks,
Jim

Re: Side mount spare tire mount measurement?

I can get some measurements for you tonight. The rod coming through the hole on the fender should be centered though.

Heres a good diagram also...

And a good thread on the fender mounted spares: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=505728&page=7

Interesting. There is also a support bracket at the bottom that I didn't get with the setup I purchased. It looks easy enough to replicate. Something else to do once I get the truck on the road.

Re: Side mount spare tire mount measurement?

Yeah, I didn't get it with mine either. Piece of 1/4" thick flat bar about an 1" wide should do the trick if you opt to add it. I never went back and added it to mine. Mines been installed since 2009 and I haven't had any issues.

Re: Side mount spare tire mount measurement?

I LITERALLY just set mine on...leveled it and bolted it down without measuring. lol I can easily fit a 31 or eve 32 inch tire on there if I want. With the hole in the fender adjusting can only go so far so its actually kinda hard to mess up. lol In a way.

Re: Side mount spare tire mount measurement?

Helps to have a second hand.....what I did when I did my conversion was to get the mount where I wanted it. Then I marked all the holes with a black sharpie. Removed the mount, drilled all the holes, then reassembled. I did remove the driver side rear fender to drill the inner mount holes.
